Chanachok to defend his title in Rayong

Chanachok Dejpiratanamongkok is going to defend the title at the Singha Championship in Rayong this week. At last year’s edition, Chanachok beat Pavit Tangkramolprasert in a playoff to win the title after they shot 15-under-269 in regulation at Rayong Green Valley Country Club.

It was his first ATGT title last year before adding one more win at the Singha Phuket Open, which propelled him to win the money list award.

Pavit, who is currently leading the ATGT money list, is not in action at this year’s tournament. However, Chanachok is sure to face uphill tasks from the likes of former champions Chapchai Nirat (2014) and Itthipat Buranathanyarat (2015), Udorn Duangdecha and Thammanon Sriroj.

Chapchai was fresh from finishing a runner-up at the Royal Cup in Pattaya on Sunday.

The two-million baht Singha Championship is the 7th leg of the 2018 All Thailand Golf Tour and the winner will receive 300,000 baht.

With 144 players in the field, the cut will be made after 36 rounds with top-50 players and ties qualifying for the weekend.

The final two rounds will be live on TrueSport 5 from 11.30am.

The tournament is mainly sponsored by Singha Corporation, the Sports Authority of Thailand, The National Sports Development Fund, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Betagro.
