The 21-year-old became the fourth Thai to have won the national Open following Suthep Meesawat (1991), Boonchu Ruangkit (1992 and 2004) and Prayad Marksaeng (2013). A victory has moved him from 394th to 239th in the world ranking and earned him a one-year exemption on the Asian tour.

The former international is also ranked 7th among the Thais following Thongchai Jaidee (75), Kiradech Aphibarnrat (97), Phachara Khongwatmai (153), Prayad Marksaeng (191), Jazz Janewattananond (191) and Danthai Boonma (238).

Dubbed “the Little Prince” because of this baby-faced look, Rattanon is now staying 17th in the money list thanks to the winner’s cheque of US$ 54,000 for his maiden win on the tour.

This week, Rattanon will play at the All Thailand Golf Tour’s Singha Phuket Open, sanctioned by Asian Development Tour, at the Laguna Golf Club in Phuket.
