Prayad to lead local challenges at US$ 500,000 Queen’s Cup on June 15-18.

The tournament, sanctioned by the Asian Tour and Thailand PGA, is the Ninth Queen’s Cup – Asian Tour of the tournament and will be held in tribute the celebration of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s 85th Birthday, the queen consort of HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

 

This year, the prize has increased from US$300,000 to US$500,000 and the winner will get Bangkok Airways’ tickets worth 100,000 Baht for any routes. Special prize for Hole in One is presented with Bangkok Airways’ tickets worth 100,000 Baht for any routes as well.

 

Mr. Prote Setsuwan, Vice President- Marketing of Bangkok Airways said, “We are particularly excited to have organized this tournament for the ninth year in celebration of Her Majesty the QueenSirikit’s 85th Birthday, the queen consort of HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej, we have always strivedto take Thai golf tournament to the international level. Moreover, the tournament is hoped to draw a larger number of golf enthusiasts which consequently stimulate Samui’s tourism.”

 

The tournament will feature many famous Thai golfers such as Thaworn Wiratchant (Winner – Queen’s Cup Bangkok Airways 2014 and Bangkok Airways Open 2008), Prayad Marksaeng (Winner – Queen’s Cup Bangkok Airways 2015)Prom Meesawat, Phachara Khongwatmai,Thitiphan Chuayprakong as well as leading pros from around Asia such as S.S.P Chawrasia, Carlos Pigem and Gavin Green.
