Gunn leads by one at ATGT Q-School

 

Gunn Charoenkul posted an opening 8-under 63 to take a one-stroke lead in the final stage of the qualifying school of the All Thailand Golf Tour 2019.

 

Gunn tamed the course with eight birdies  in a bogey-free round at the Watermill Golf Resort & Garden in Nakhon Nayok on Tuesday.

 

Amateur Sadom Kaewkanjana and Kyaw Thet OO  were a stroke behind.

 

Witchayanond Chothirunrungrueng, 21, who got his first professional title two months ago, came in fourth on 5-under with Sakchai Sirimaya and Borworn Chaisri, who shared the top prize in the first stage.

 

Kosuke Hamamoto, a former Thailand national player, carded a 2-under 69 to stay tied with 11 players including Japanese Hirotake Sugano, Yuishiro Nishi, Janne Kaske of Finland, and Ye Htet Aung of Myanmar.

 

The 123-player field will be cut to 80 after two rounds and the tour cards are available for the top 35 ties after 72 holes.

 

All Thailand Golf Tour will start the 2019 season with Boonchu Ruangkit Championship to be held at Rancho Charnvee Resort and Country Club on January 10-13.

 

The tournament with the purse of 4 million baht is jointly sanctioned by Asian Development Tour (ADT).
