Amateur Sadom extends his lead at ATGT Q-school

 

Thailand national player Sadom Kaewkanjana , who was in the Nomura Cup-winning team last year, fired a third round 69 to extend his lead by two shots at the final stage of the All Thailand Golf Tour on Thursday.

 

Sadom was on 15-under-198 entering the final round at par-71 Watermill Golf Club & Resort in Nakhon Nayok.

 

Poom Pattaropong was two strokes behind after makeing a 65 with six birdies.

 

Gunn Charoenkul posted a 71 to stay third on 12-under 201 while Witchayanon Chothirunrungrueng sat two strokes down further following his third round 70.

 

Wachirawit Saoron (70) and Poonnavich Hirayama (66) were tied for fifth on 10-under 203.

 

Yoshinobu Tsukada got three birdies and two bogeys for a 70 at Watermill Golf Resort & Garden.

The former Tsuruya Open winner was on 6-under 207, one shot ahead of Thai-Japan Kosuke Hamamoto (65) and Janne Kaske of Finland (69).

 

Thaya Limpipolpaibul fired four birdies and two bogeys for a 2-under. He stay tied for 10th on 4-under with Tim Rattanaprapha (72), Kyaw Thet OO of Myanmar (72), and Fan Chiang Hao-Chuan of Taiwan (70).

 

Ye Htet Aung, also from Myanmar, is still on course to secure the 2009 ATGT card after he made a 71 to share 21st with four players including Borworn Chaisri (77) Yuichiro Nishi of Japan (74), Chris Chinnapongse (72) and Sukiat Sungwanpeth (71).

 

Brandon Tsujimoto of USA carded a 71 to share 41st heading into the final round.

 

The top-35 players and ties will earn the card for the next season to kick off at the 4-million baht Boonchu Ruangkit Championship next month.

 

From next season, the tour will be given the world ranking points.
