Amateur Sadom wins ATGT Q-School

Thirty-five golfers including 11 foreigners have secured the 2019 ATGT cards. Amateur Sadom Kaewkanjana won the qualifying event at par-71 Watermill Golf Club & Resort in Nakhon Nayok on Friday.

 

Taking a one-shot lead after three rounds, the 20-year-old, who has been representing the country for four years, shot a final round 66 to win on 20-under.

 

Poom Pattaropong came in second with a stroke behind following his final 65. He was on 19-under 265 while Gunn Charoenkul, who closed with a 68, was third with four strokes down further.

 

The best foreigner in the field was Janne Kaske who shared fourth on 275 with Thai-Japan Kosuke Yamamoto. They each made a closing 67.

 

Kosuke, who turned pro a month ago, and amateur Sadom were in the team winning the historic Nomura Cup title last year.

 

Yoshinobu Tsukada, the former Japan tour winner, posted an even-par 71 to finish on 6-under.

 

Chiang Mai native Thaya Limpipolpaibul came in 18th while Ira Alido of the Philippines got the final hole birdie to earn the card having shared 34th place on 287.

 

All Thailand Golf Tour will start the 2019 season with the Boonchu Ruangkit Championship next month.
